How to Use Sea Salt Spray on Men's Hair
Three to six sprays, damp or dry, worked through with your fingers. Damp gives you more shape; dry gives you more separation.
The short version
Shake the bottle. Three to six sprays into damp or dry hair, roots through mid-lengths. Rake it through with your fingers and either leave it or reshape. No rinse.
Step by step
- 1
Shake
Shake the bottle. The mineral blend settles.
- 2
Spray
3–6 pumps into damp or dry hair, roots to mid-lengths.
- 3
Work it in
Rake through with your fingers. Leave it, or reshape.
Damp or dry?
- Damp hair — more shape and bend. Spray after towel-drying, then air-dry or rough-dry with a hairdryer.
- Dry hair — more separation and a looser, lived-in look. Good for reviving a style later in the day.
How to avoid the crunch
Crunch comes from too much product sitting on the surface without being worked in. Use fewer sprays, spread them across the head rather than one spot, and rake through properly. A salt spray should feel like hair, not like a shell.
Can you use it every day?
It's a styling product, so use is down to preference and how your hair responds. Salt has a drying effect on hair over time, so if yours already runs dry, alternate days and keep conditioner in your routine.
Who it suits
Best suited for. Short-to-medium length, fine-to-medium thickness. Straight, wavy or loosely curly hair that needs body and separation. Damp or dry hair, every day.
Not ideal for. Very thick or coarse hair that needs firm hold, very long hair, or a high-shine slicked-back finish.
